Ronisha Joy born a native of Memphis TN. raised in a low-income single family home.
Ronisha is the eldest of three children. At the age of sixteen she took the responsibility of helping her mother raise her two siblings after she had a car accident which left her in poor health.
At the age of twenty Ronisha was married and soon relocated to Nashville TN.
There she began a career of entrepreneurship, starting a beauty/barber salon while working as an independent contractor for one of the largest companies in Nashville.
In 2011 Ronisha and her family experienced the tragic loss of her sister. As a result her marriage begins to fail.
In 2013 Ronisha moved back to Memphis continuing her passion for entrepreneurship, this time a childcare facility, while attending school to become a dental assistant. Upon completion of dental school, Ronisha developed a passion for the city of Memphis, & youth in the city.
Ronisha became very proactive in increasing positivity throughout the community in which she lives. Attempting to open a youth development center, however the support that was needed was not shown by people who lived in the community as well as the city, as if the citizens of Memphis had given up on the youth.
Ronisha started paying close attention to the local radio stations, & the news stations.
Violence is what both seemed to highlight and glorify.
Ronisha took those negatives and worked diligently on changing the dynamics of what was portrayed on a daily basis.
Ronisha started using her love for people and her city by working to promote local businesses,& local artists. In which the citizens became receptive, supporting locally owned and small businesses.
Ronisha believed in what most couldn’t see; she started to focus on that, highlighting her city and its great citizens.
She earned the nickname JOY, because she has made it her goal to always be positive and to always find the silver lining in the clouds.
Ronisha created her brand Joy Ride in the City, which she travels throughout the city promoting positive vibes & energy, bringing people from all walks of life together.
